Komm zum ISA und ROSA Sommercamp: 20.-27. August 2023

in Kärnten / Koroška

[english version below]

[english version]

Come to ISA and ROSA summer camp

Have you always dreamt of combining a holiday in a gorgeous place between a lake and the beautiful mountains of Carinthia/Koroška with a series of interesting discussions on how the struggle against climate destruction can win, why the far right is gaining strength or how you can build resistance at your workplace, school or university? Want to hear from socialists from around the world about struggles in neo-colonial countries, the strike wave in the UK and the movements against the Israeli regime?

You got it!

In our ISA and ROSA camp we will discuss a whole range of topics - What is driving the strengthening of far right ideas, from Georgia Meloni to Andrew Tate, and what are socialist answers to racism, sexism and LGBTQ+phobia? Why are tensions growing between the US and China, and how does this impact other regions? Why do so many governments start taking more authoritarian steps? We will also dedicate time to looking back, what can we learn from the black liberation movement in the US, and how did the Black Lives Matter movement raise questions about the role of the state within the capitalist system? Struggle against authoritarian states like the courageous revolt in Iran also raises questions on how we can beat these brutal regimes? Here in Austria the governments’ refusal to invest in the health, education and social sectors is impacting us all, and in some cases – costs in lives. Why? How can we fight effectively for the working and living conditions we deserve? Women have played a central role in many of the movements in the last years, this is no coincidence – what does the oppression of women have to do with the crisis in the health sector and with increasing far right forces?

Hear from socialist activists from around the globe! The camp will host ROSA and ISA activists from different countries including Germany, Israel-Palestine, Belgium, and many others who will speak about the experience of struggle in different countries - from strikes in different workplaces to Pride and the struggle against women’s oppression.

Most importantly! We will make the time to look forward! How do we take what we discuss and turn it into action – from practical workshops on speaking in public or writing a political text for social media, to building the struggle against violence against women, for better working conditions in the social, health and education sectors, in the climate movement, and for the development of a struggle that can challenge the whole system.
